Hi, I’m Rachel…

(they/them)

I graduated from the University of Minnesota and am licensed by the State of Minnesota as an LGSW. I have accumulated over 8 years of experience working in and around the mental health field. I do my best to tailor my therapy approach to each client, through collaboration and communication.

I enjoy working with clients of all ages, and currently am looking to work with young adults who are experiencing life transitions such as starting new jobs, coming home from college, and starting school again. I bring in a variety of tools into the work, including building safety, skill building, and exploring relationship patterns.

I prioritize creating a space where clients feel empowered to process at their own pace. I encourage open feedback, understanding that the therapeutic relationship is collaborative and dynamic. I recognize that therapy can be difficult, and at times intimidating. I work with clients to ease this feeling, while also gently challenging them in the areas they are aiming to grow.

As a queer person, I do my best to create a space that allows for open engagement, challenging conversations, and an opportunity for clients to explore their own feelings and experiences around this topic when relevant. I aim to create a space that encourages challenging conversations, self reflection, and learning for both my clients and myself.

In other news, I have an orange cat named George, who is great at getting herself into curious situations. I also love plants and art and believe both can play a positive role in life and therapy. When I have time, I garden, draw, do crafts, and spend time hiking.
